Cupcake-palooza: All you can eat cupcakes for $10!
Late in life I have developed a passion for taste tests. I suspect this could be some nostalgia for a childhood in the 80s where roving Coke vs Pepsi taste test vans dominated the suburban mall experience. Or maybe its just that I like the subtle thrill of the uncertain. Lately in our house we've blind taste tested brands of pickles, cottage cheese (where Kroger brand was a surprising hands-down winner), cheddar cheese and barbecue sauce. So there is something in me that can't help but be drawn to a chance to taste five different local area bakeries' cupcakes and do it all to benefit an amazing charity.
Fido's is hosting Cupcake-Palooza tomorrow evening Saturday, September 25, 5:30pm - 8pm at Fido. The event will feature bite-sized cupcakes from at least five different Nashville area bakeries, including the drool-worthy Cupcake Collection of Germantown, Cuppy Cakes, The Painted Cupcake, Grins Vegetarian Cafe and of course Fido. The event is all you can eat cupcakes--that's right ALL YOU CAN EAT--and admission is $10 for adults, $3 for kids over 5, and free for those under 5.
Proceeds from the fundraiser event benefit "Books from Birth," a Middle Tennessee initiative to provide a free book every month of a child's life from birth to age five! In our area, this is provided by The Governor's Foundation in partnership with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.
If you don't live in Middle Tennessee, The Imagination Library initiative reaches kids in the US, Canada, and the UK, so if you are interested in enrolling your child, check the website and search by your postal code. Of course, you probably won't be able to join us for cupcakes!
Thanks to 365 Things to do in Nashville for bringing this fun event to my attention.
Go eat yer cake!
